<\/span>February 4th is a World Cancer Day. This day was established at the initiative <\/span>initiative of the International Union Against Cancer (<\/span>UICC<\/span>)<\/span>. The International Union represents 280 organizations in 90 countries <\/span>around the world. This day is a day of information and prevention because 43% of cancers can be prevented. The main causes are smoking and obesity. <\/span><\/p>\n

Smoking is the leading cause of cancer worldwide. 25% to 30% of cases worldwide are related to smoking. Smoking cessation and its benefits appear from the 1st\u03b7<\/sup> day of cessation and over time are even stronger. <\/span><\/p>\n

Obesity. Studies on obesity in western societies show that it is clearly associated with colon, breast (postmenopausal women), endometrial, kidney and esophageal cancer (adenocarcinoma).
